Does your family love LEGO® Bricks? If so, this is the event for you!
View the amazing model of Flying Scotsman built from LEGO® bricks. Complete with its carriages, it is over 8 metres long, and this is the first chance to see it in the East Midlands.
Flying Scotsman is the undoubted star of this amazing touring show “Bricks Britannia”. The show has over 30 exciting models on display, celebrating key events, places and people in British history. Every child visiting has a competition challenge – to track down these models while exploring the Museum Complex at Swanwick Junction. Can you track them all down? The show is brought to you in co-operation with Bright Bricks, home to the UK’s only LEGO® Certified Professional.
Children can join in a workshop to build their own model of a locomotive from a LEGO® bricks kit, exclusive to the Midland Railway – Butterley. (Additional charge of £5 for each model, which is theirs to keep.)
Additionally on Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holiday Monday, special workshops where children can build and program models using LEGO® bricks will be brought to you by JuniorSTEM. (Additional charge of £5 per child and spaces strictly limited.)
Whilst you wait for your train at Butterley there is an indoor play area with bricks of all shapes and sizes to build and play with. Plus all of the usual attractions will be open when you arrive at Swanwick Junction Station.
A great full day out for all of the family.
We recommend that you arrive in time to catch a morning train from Butterley and certainly no later than 2pm if you wish to take part in the JuniorSTEM workshop.
The Midland Railway – Butterley is grateful to Forterra Brick, makers of Butterley Bricks, for their sponsorship of Butterley Brick Week.
