Join us today as one of our heritage diesel loco hauls our heritage mark 1 carriages in “Blood and Custard “ livery and experience the way travel used to be with a train ride through the wonderful Derbyshire countryside.


Trains Depart From Butterley At: 11.00am,12.25pm, 2.00pm & 3.20pm

Get off the train at Swanwick Junction and explore the Museum Complex, where you will be able to visit the Demonstration Signal Box, Victorian Railwayman’s Church, the West Shed , GVLR, stationary power building, diesel shed, road transport building and the Country Park.

The Matthew Kirtley Building is currently closed to visitors.

Trains return from Swanwick Junction at:  11.45am, 1.15pm, 2.45pm & 4.00pm.
