A1 Peppercorn Pacific 60163 “Tornado” will be hauling passenger trains at the Midland Railway – Butterley over the weekend of 21st & 22nd April 2018 and you could be one of its passengers. Experience the sights, sounds, smells and power of this iconic locomotive.

“Tornado” was the first steam locomotive to be built in the UK for almost half a century. Completed in 2008, it reached 100mph on the mainline in April 2017, again a first in 50 years. It has also featured in “Paddington 2”, so it is sure to be a hit with children of all ages.

Your ticket will be for one full line timed trip behind “Tornado” but will also include unlimited all day travel on the heritage Diesel Multiple Unit services in operation. This will enable you to access all of the attractions at the Midland Railway – Butterley as well as some good photographic locations to get some great shots of “Tornado” in action.

This will be a great day out for all of the family and remember PARKING IS FREE.

You can buy tickets in advance by clicking on the train of your choice on the Calendar. Tickets purchased in advance are cheaper than those available on the day, so why not take advantage of this saving.

Please note:  No vouchers or discounts are valid for this event.
