Step back in time and experience travel as it would have been over 100 years ago. For two special weekends, the restored vintage carriages are brought out of the museum to operate train services for visitors. In 2017, a newly restored carriage took to the tracks for the first time, after 18 years of hard work! So if you missed it last year, why not take a trip in this amazing carriage in 2018? Midland Railway Trust volunteers will be on the trains in period costume to add to the atmosphere and answer your questions.
The first weekend is over the May Day Bank Holiday and runs from the 5th to the 7th May 2018 and the second opportunity to step back in time is during the August Bank Holiday from the 25th August to 27th August 2018.
Visitors in Victorian costume travel at half price. All of the usual attractions will be open.
