We have unfortunately made the decision to cancel our Diesel Gala for 2020. Please stay tuned for dates and details for 2021!
Join us for a spectacular Summer Diesel Gala, when visiting diesel locomotives from the national network will be supported by our home fleet.
An intensive timetable will be in operation over the weekend to allow you travel behind as many of the operating locomotives as possible.
We look forward to seeing you at this special weekend to enjoy modern and heritage diesel locomotives spanning the last 50 years.
Various visiting and home fleet locomotives will be on static display and operating. – TBC
All locomotives and rolling stock are subject to availability.
Get off the train at Swanwick Junction and explore the Museum Complex, where you will be able to visit the Matthew Kirtley Building (Railway Museum), Demonstration Signal Box, Victorian Railwayman’s Church, the West Shed and the Country Park.
The narrow gauge Golden Valley Light Railway will be operating during this event using a variety of diesel locomotives from its collection. Please note a separate fare is payable on this railway. The Historic Model Railway Society will also be open with displays.
