Our flagship LMS 3F 16440 built in 1926 is nearing completion of its restoration.
Join us for 16440’s official launch back into traffic, Saturday 29th & Sunday 30th June 2024 here at Midland Railway – Butterley!

Trains Depart From Butterley At: 10:30, 12:00, 13:30, 15:10 and 16:15
Also open at Swanwick Junction, the Museum Complex, where you will be able to visit the Demonstration Signal Box, Victorian Railwayman’s Church and the Country Park. Other attractions may also be open.

Gareth Baker Children’s Author and Patron of Reading is back at the railway for our Jinty Launch and Civil War Weekend! Gareth will be doing story telling sessions at various intervals throughout the day!

The Golden Valley Light Railway at Swanwick Junction will also be operating steam hauled services featuring O&K 7529!

Deeley’s Tearoom will be open in Swanwick Junction Station serving drinks, light snacks and ice cream. We also have Tom Said Micropub visiting with a range of beers and gins to enjoy.
