Experience the way travel used to be with a train ride through the wonderful Derbyshire countryside on board the Midland Railway – Butterley’s heritage mark 1 carriages in blood & custard livery.
The Locomotive hauling train will ‘top and tail’ with steam loco Eustace Forth no. 15 and Diesel 08 over the weekend.

Built in1942 at the Forth Bank Works in Newcastle for working at Dunston Power Station in Gateshead.

British Rail Class 08, 08590 ‘Red Lion’.

Built in Crewe works 1959.

The class were nicknamed ‘Gronks’ due to their small but powerful design and being a general purpose workhorse for BR.

Trains Depart From Butterley At: TBC

Get off the train at Swanwick Junction and explore the Complex, where you will be able to visit Deeleys Tearoom, Demonstration Signal Box, Victorian Railwayman’s Church and the Country Park. Other attractions may also be open.
