If you are looking for a fun day out this Easter, then the Midland Railway – Butterley might just be the place you are looking for, testing your wits against the Easter Egg Trail.

Hop on board our special Butterley Easter Train at Butterley Station and have an eggcelent time aboard our DMU. Hop off the train at Swanwick Junction to have fun hopping around the MR-B following the Easter Egg Trail. Look out for our Easter Bunny!

Travelling children receive a gift from the Easter Bunny and adults receive a complimentary hot drink in Deeley’s Tea Room”.

Experience the way travel used to be with a train ride through the wonderful Derbyshire countryside.

Trains depart from Butterley at:  11.00am, 11.50am, 12.40pm, 2.00pm, 2.50pm & 3.45pm

Get off the train at Swanwick Junction and explore the Museum Complex, where you will be able to visit the children’s play area, Victorian Railwayman’s Church, the West Shed and the Country Park. Other attractions may also be open.  (Please note that this is not possible on the 3.45pm departure.)

Trains return from Swanwick Junction at:  11.35am, 12.25pm, 1.15pm, 2.35pm, 3.25pm & 4.00pm.

There is a small charge for under 5s which would like a gift from the Easter Bunny. This can be purchased online or on the day at the booking window.

Parking at Butterley Station is FREE.
