The Golden Valley Light Railway are celebrating the 25th Anniversery of Trains running to the Newlands Inn over the Bank Holiday Weekend Sat 27th, Sun 28th & BH Mon 29th May 2023!
Steam Hauled trains using O&K 7529 will run all three days
On the 27th & 28th only, there will be two train running, with trains every half hour from Butterley park station. Alternate trains will be hauled by Steam Loco O&K 7529 and Simplex 60S364 “Campbell’s Brickworks No 1”

Standard Gauge Travel
Experience the way travel used to be with a train ride through the wonderful Derbyshire countryside on board the Midland Railway – Butterley’s heritage mark 1 carriages in blood & custard livery.
The Locomotive hauling trains over this bank holiday will be MR-B resident, British Rail class 44 D4 ‘Great Gable’
Trains Depart From Butterley At:
11.00am, 12.25pm, 2.00pm, & 3.20pm
Get off the train at Swanwick Junction and explore the Complex, where you will be able to visit Deeleys Tearoom, Demonstration Signal Box, Victorian Railwayman’s Church and the Country Park. Other attractions may also be open.
Trains return from Swanwick Junction at: 11.45am, 1.15pm, 2.45pm & 4.00pm.
