This Mothering Sunday, treat your mum to a special Afternoon Tea in our Victorian Station Tearoom, ‘Deeleys’.

Arrive at Butterley Station and collect your tickets at the booking office and to take the 12:40pm Diesel powered Train, which arrives at Swanwick Junction Station at 1:08pm. Here you will be met on the platform and escorted into Deeleys and to your table.

There you will be served, on vintage china, a delicious Afternoon Tea consisting of:

  • Sandwiches on white and brown bread;
  • Egg mayonnaise and cress
  • Cheese and pickle
  • Ham and mustard
  • Smoked salmon and cream cheese
  • Salad garnish
  • Coleslaw
  • Vegetable crisps
  • Selection of mini cakes
  • Fruit scone with strawberry conserve rodda’s clotted cream
  • Pot of tea, coffee or fruit tea

Please let us know of any dietary requirements when making your booking to allow us to cater for you.

You will then have the opportunity to spend some time looking around the Museums and other attractions at Swanwick Junction, before getting the return train at either 2pm, 2:40pm or 3:45pm to Butterley.

The price for this special afternoon is £20 per person (£25 if you would like to include prosecco for an extra special touch) and £16 for children. This price includes return train travel, Afternoon Tea and access to the Museum site. Parking at Butterley Station is free.

Places are limited and must be booked in advanced. All bookings must be made and paid for before 5pm on Thursday 28th March 2019.

Trains depart from Butterley at:  11.00am, 11.50am, 12.40pm, 2.00pm & 2.50pm.

You can also take advantage of a SALE in the shop at Butterley, offering genuine reductions on many items.

Get off the train at Swanwick Junction and explore the Museum Complex, where you will be able to visit the Matthew Kirtley Building (Railway Museum), Demonstration Signal Box, Victorian Railwayman’s Church and the Country Park.* Other attractions may also be open.

Trains return from Swanwick Junction at:  11.35am, 12.25pm, 1.25pm, 2.45pm, 3.35pm & 4.00pm.

* Please note:  In poor weather conditions it might not be possible to open some of these attractions and in extreme weather Swanwick Junction may be completely closed to visitors.
