Summer Diesel Gala
June 16, 2018 - June 17, 2018
Join us for a spectacular Summer Diesel Gala, when visiting diesel locomotives from the national network will be supported by our home fleet.
An intensive timetable will be in operation over the weekend to allow you travel behind as many of the operating locomotives as possible. Plus there is a Sea Fish Special on Saturday evening. Join us for a Modern Traction Chippie Tea.
We look forward to seeing you at this special weekend to enjoy modern and heritage diesel locomotives spanning the last 50 years.
Visiting and home fleet locomotives will be in operation. These will be:
Class 60 – 60100
Class 66 – 66065
Class 67 – 67005 “Queen’s Messenger” and 67006 “Royal Sovereign”
Class 60, 66, and 67 are visiting courtesy of DB Cargo.
Prior to the event 60100 will be named “Midland Railway – Butterley” in a special ceremony. This will be the first DB Cargo locomotive to carry the name of a heritage railway. The Gala presents a unique opportunity to travel behind a locomotive carrying the name of the venue.
