If you are looking for a day out, then the Midland Railway – Butterley might just be the place you are looking for!
Experience the way travel used to be with a train ride through the wonderful Derbyshire countryside.
Trains depart from Butterley at: 11.00am, 12.25pm, 2.00pm & 3.20pm.
Get off the train at Swanwick Junction and explore the Museum Complex, where you will be able to visit the Matthew Kirtley Building (Railway Museum), Demonstration Signal Box, Victorian Railwayman’s Church, the West Shed and the Country Park. Other attractions may also be open. (Please note that this is not possible on the 3.20pm departure.)
Over this weekend we are also delighted to welcome The Cambridge-Oxford Owners Club who will be attending with a selection of Farina cars, as 2019 marks the 60th Anniversary of the production of “Farina” designed cars.
Although this is a private event, the site is open as usual and visitors are welcome to enjoy looking at the selection of attending vehicles.
Trains return from Swanwick Junction at: 11.45am, 1.15pm, 2.45pm & 4.00pm.
Today’s trains are planned to be Diesel service.
