New for 2024! The Midland Railway – Butterley is hosting it’s first Civil War, living history weekend on the 29th and 30th June.

Thomas Lord Grey’s of the Sealed Knot invites you to step off the train and into the English civil war.

Visit the living history camp with music from the time, taking visitors back to 17th Century England. Meet Soldiers from Lord Greys and experience what it was like to be a musketeer or pikeman and have a go on the drums.

Children can get involved too and have a lesson with a musket and pike with their own kids drill!

Watch Lord Grey’s drill display with firing muskets and you will be able to watch a small skirmish where Lord Grey’s troops find a royalist camp!!!  Which side will you choose?
