Ahoy and Welcome to the Pirate & Princess Adventure
Experience the way travel used to be with a train ride through the wonderful Derbyshire countryside on one of the Midland Railway – Butterley’s heritage steam trains.
Meet and greet when trains arrive back from Ironville with characters in Swanwick Junction station.
There will be a show with music and dance between trains near the sandpit.
When you hop off at Swanwick Junction, explore the heritage site packed with family-friendly experiences (availability may vary during the day):
- Golden Valley Light Railway
- Victorian Railwayman’s Church
- Stationary Power House
- Road Transport Building
- Princess Royal Class Locomotive Trust
- Kids’ playground and Country Park
- And other buildings on-site open throughout the day
Deeley’s Tearoom at Swanwick Junction is open for drinks, light snacks, and ice cream, perfect for a little rest between adventures.
