High Speed Train – Special repeat event June 25th & 26th

Come and experience the iconic High Speed Train (HST) as it runs again at he Midland Railway - Butterley.  This weekends services will be operated by the former East Midlands Railways HST set, which will comprise vehicles 43159, 41057, 40730, 41067, 40741, 43048 (power cars in bold). 

DMU Gala Weekend – 18th & 19th June

The two-day DMU weekend on June 18-19 will feature the entry into traffic for the first time in preservation of Class 142 unit 142011, which has been restored to its 1984 livery of Provincial Blue. Three trains will be in service and these will include the only working Class 141, which, like the Class 142, was built at the Leyland National factory in Workington which is itself celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. Also appearing will be a Derby-built Class 108 which is now some 62 years old.

Victorian Train Weekend

Step back in time and experience travel as it would have been over 100 years ago. Come in Victorian costume and travel at half price!

Transport Festival

Join us for a great day out for all of the family. This festival of transport will delight people of all ages. Steam and diesel trains, narrow gauge, miniature and model railways, plus a road rally featuring up to eighty cars, motorbikes, buses and lorries from yesteryear.
