Join us this February Half Term as we kick off our 2026 season!

Enjoy a fun-filled winter day out for the whole family as we run a 2 steam service on Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th February.

Watch on as two steam engines pass each other at Swanwick Junction, creating a spectacular and atmospheric sight not to be missed

The Jinty returns to service after its Christmas stint and will be joined by Eustace Forth No. 15, providing plenty of sights, sounds, and smells that steam fans of all ages will love.

Step aboard our cosy Mk1, steam-heated carriages and relax together as you travel in warmth and comfort — the perfect place to sit back, spot the scenery, and enjoy some quality family time, whatever the February weather brings.

Whether you’re introducing little ones to steam for the first time or reliving fond railway memories, it’s a great half-term adventure for all generations.

Hop off the train at Swanwick Junction and explore our Museum Complex, packed with things to see and do for all ages.

Discover the Victorian Railwayman’s Church, step back in time in the West Shed Experience, and explore the Road Transport Building, Stationary Power House.

The Golden Valley Light Railway is a small extra charge to travel, but saver tickets can be bought whilst booking online or at Butterley Ticket window on the day.

Younger visitors can let off steam in the kids’ play area, while families can enjoy a stroll around the Country Park.

Other attractions may also be open on the day, all subject to volunteer availability.

Deeley’s Tearooms at Swanwick Junction will also be open, serving a selection of hot and cold drinks, snacks, ice creams, and sandwiches — perfect for a relaxing break during your visit.

Please note: Free Parking and entrance are at Butterley station. Swanwick Junction Station is not accessible with vehicles.
