Join us over the Bank Holiday Weekend, 4th, 5th and 6th May and step back in time to experience travel as it would have been over 100 years ago. The restored vintage carriages will be brought out of the museum and steam hauled for visitors to enjoy a taste of rail travel of the past.

The weekend will feature steam locomotive Robert Stephenson & Hawthorne Ltd Forth 7063 No.15 Eustace Forth!

Midland Railway Trust volunteers will be on the trains in period costume to add to the atmosphere and answer your questions and for children there’s a special vintage themed I-Spy competition.

Visitors in Victorian costume travel at half price (on the day ticket sales only).

The Golden Valley Light Railway at Swanwick Junction will also be operating steam hauled services featuring O&K 7529!

Trains depart from Butterley at:  Timetable to be confirmed

Get off the train at Swanwick Junction and explore the Complex, where you will be able to visit the children’s play area, Victorian Railwayman’s Church, the West Shed and the Country Park. Other attractions may also be open.  (Please note that this is not possible on the 3.20pm departure.)
